I think this photo pretty much explains everyone’s perception of what a ‘Teeny Bopper’ is, but not many people know that ‘The Beatles’ were considered a teeny bopper band as well, that is, that young teenagers (mostly girls) were more insane than usual over them. And it’s the same nowadays with the likes of ‘One Direction’ being cited as ‘the next Beatles’ and even quoting themselves as being ‘like the Beatles’. I have nothing against One Direction, they make catchy tunes and they sell, which is why they’re there in the first place, but they’re nothing like The Beatles. Anyway, on the main point, this week’s blog is to write about the teeny bopper phenomenon between the 1960′s and present day and choose 5 songs from the era. Since I know a lot about The Beatles and I like to think I know a lot about the 60′s, I’ve decided I’ll choose the songs from back then.
I think I’ll start with what I believe is one of the most teeny bopper songs from that era.. (From The Beatles of course!) It’s ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’, the teeny boppers back then would have done anything to ”hold hands” with them I imagine…
Just who is this teeny bopper making all the headlines. Well, at the beginning of Britney's music career you might have been able to call her a 'teeny bopper' but the title just doesn't fit now.
Britney Jean Spears was born December 2, 1981, in McComb, Mississippi but calls Kentwood, Louisiana, USA her home. Britney began performing as a singer and dancer at a young age. In 1992, she made a nationally televised appearance on Star Search winning the first round but sadly missing out on the second. Poor Britney. She didn't let this get her down - she auditioned for the Disney Channel's New Mickey Mouse Club at age eight. At such a tender age, the producers felt she was way too young and turned her down. All was not lost - one of the producers saw her potential and introduced her to an agent in New York.
I have been a bit obsessed with The Vampire Diaries lately. I know, I know. It's a teeny bopper version of True Blood that continues to feed Hollywood's teen-vamp obsession, but what can I say, I'm hooked! I am particularly intrigued by the wardrobe of the stunning centuries-old vampire villain, Catherine (played by Nina Dobrev).
