Oh and for fun, Hummer owner proves that people who Drive H1s are either blind, or jackasses. Hes actually parked like this, and gone into Home Depot, not just idling or anything. Parked, deliberately. Laughed my ass off!
Take It Easy (And Other Bad Ideas)
How many people do you know who are working so hard that they need to “take it easy?” Most people would do better by taking it a lot less easy, by trying harder and designing and living a more fulfilling life.
Why would you want to spend your life “taking it easy” when you could instead spend your time in some worthy pursuit that stretches you? Who on their deathbed is going to say: “Wow . . . I wish I would have spent more time taking it easy?” What do you get for “taking it easy?”
We’ve all heard it said that practice makes perfect, but does it? Does it really? When I was teaching I began to realize what a faulty theory that was, and I made certain it was something I never said to my students. What I did say is “practice makes better,” and I said it often.
Over the past few years I have noticed a trend among those, Christians in particular, who desire to be culturally relevant and that is the broad use of the word resonate. I cannot count the number of conversations I have had in which the person I am speaking with makes the comment, “That really resonates with me,” or some such derivative.
Initially, I was less bothered than intrigued by the use of the word. Having spent a few precious college credit hours taking Engineering Physics and the like, I have always associated the word resonate with harmonics related to music, electricity, and the frequencies necessary to produce sympathetic vibrations in different forms of matter. However, after the twentieth time hearing that an idea or concept “resonated” with someone, I began to be bothered.
Not that such use of the word is necessarily invalid – it’s akin to saying “that struck a chord with me,” – but I suddenly couldn’t escape people using it all the time. Resonance was everywhere! On blogs, in conversations, in sermons. Seemingly out of the blue, everything resonated with everyone – emotionally, philosophically, theologically – and the culturally hip way to express agreement with a trend or idea was to claim resonance.
Thus, my suggestion is that we leave resonance to the physicists and resume our verbal engagements without using the phrase, “that resonates with me.” Unless, of course, we happen to be talking about a loud concert or an earthquake.
I think this photo pretty much explains everyone’s perception of what a ‘Teeny Bopper’ is, but not many people know that ‘The Beatles’ were considered a teeny bopper band as well, that is, that young teenagers (mostly girls) were more insane than usual over them. And it’s the same nowadays with the likes of ‘One Direction’ being cited as ‘the next Beatles’ and even quoting themselves as being ‘like the Beatles’. I have nothing against One Direction, they make catchy tunes and they sell, which is why they’re there in the first place, but they’re nothing like The Beatles. Anyway, on the main point, this week’s blog is to write about the teeny bopper phenomenon between the 1960′s and present day and choose 5 songs from the era. Since I know a lot about The Beatles and I like to think I know a lot about the 60′s, I’ve decided I’ll choose the songs from back then.
I think I’ll start with what I believe is one of the most teeny bopper songs from that era.. (From The Beatles of course!) It’s ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’, the teeny boppers back then would have done anything to ”hold hands” with them I imagine…
Just who is this teeny bopper making all the headlines. Well, at the beginning of Britney's music career you might have been able to call her a 'teeny bopper' but the title just doesn't fit now.
Britney Jean Spears was born December 2, 1981, in McComb, Mississippi but calls Kentwood, Louisiana, USA her home. Britney began performing as a singer and dancer at a young age. In 1992, she made a nationally televised appearance on Star Search winning the first round but sadly missing out on the second. Poor Britney. She didn't let this get her down - she auditioned for the Disney Channel's New Mickey Mouse Club at age eight. At such a tender age, the producers felt she was way too young and turned her down. All was not lost - one of the producers saw her potential and introduced her to an agent in New York.
I have been a bit obsessed with The Vampire Diaries lately. I know, I know. It's a teeny bopper version of True Blood that continues to feed Hollywood's teen-vamp obsession, but what can I say, I'm hooked! I am particularly intrigued by the wardrobe of the stunning centuries-old vampire villain, Catherine (played by Nina Dobrev).
Sittin' in my bedroom late last night
Got into bed and turned out the light
Decided to call my baby on the telephone
All I got was an engaged tone
It's off the hook
It's off the hook
It's off the hook
It's off the hook
It's off the hook

Even Royals Pee: Prince William Takes A Pit Stop At Public Toilets During Royal Engagement
Prince William the Duke of Cambridge carried out two engagements this morning in Hampshire and while the royal was the definition of respectable as usual, looks like he might have had a bit too much coffee as interrupted his tours for a trip to the public toilets.
The 32 year-old visited the Royal Navy Submarine Museum before touring HMS Alliance in Gosport, Hampshire and looked pretty excited as he stepped out in the sunshine. But even royals are at the mercy of when nature calls and Wills slipped off for a moment.
