A Dime a DozenThis English idiom is an American English idiom but English speakers use it across the world. We say something is “a dime a dozen” when we want to express that something is of a low value, or very common. The opposite would be something very valuable or rare.

Dime = An American coin which has a value of 10 cents.
Dozen = A quantity of 12

A Dime a Dozen can be used to express that something is = Common, Plentiful, Low Value, Cheap. If you think about this English idioms, it literally means that you can buy 12, for only 10cents!! That’s Very Cheap!

Thousands of people are feared to have died after two powerful earthquakes rocked Indonesia.
Rescuers were frantically searching for survivors in the rubble caused by the two quakes in the province of Sumatra today - as, far to the west on the Pacific islands of Samoa, stunned residents were battling heat and floods to pull the bloated bodies of tsunami victims from the water.
The devastating quakes came just hours after the powerful tsunami smashed into the Pacific islands of Samoa, American Samoa and Tonga.

Four solar, two moon eclipses to take place in 2011
The first solar eclipse will take place on January 4. It will begin at 06:40 GMT and will be visible from Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa. At maximum eclipse in northern Europe, the Moon will cover 86 percent of the Sun's diameter.
The next solar eclipse will occur on June 1. Residents of the Russian Kolguyev island in the Barents Sea will have a chance to observe the Moon covering 60 percent of the Sun's diameter. The eclipse will also be visible from the eastern Arctic, northern Canada, the Kamchatka peninsula and other regions of Russia's Far East.
On June 15, a total moon eclipse will take place, visible from India, the Middle East, Africa and southern Europe. Soon after it, another solar eclipse will occur, but this time the Moon will cast its shadow on less then 0.1 percent of the Sun.
